Yes, that’s right. Queen of Quinoa is turning one year old today! I can’t tell you how excited I am to share this moment with you. You are so special to me, and I wouldn’t be here today without you.

I can’t believe an entire year has passed.

It feels like time has just flown by. Like it was yesterday when I was hitting ‘publish’ for the first time. That moment of trepidation and fear, when I was so unsure if anyone would find me or even read my recipes. But now, I have you. And I’m so very lucky that I do.

It’s been a year full of fun, laughs, inspiration, joy, the occasional cry, a little frustration from time to time, a few ruined recipes, accompanied by many successes. But most importantly, it’s been a year full of happiness and growth. I’ve met amazing people, discovered incredible blogs and uncovered a whole new world of food.

Cooking, writing, photographing, tasting, and experimenting with food has changed my life. In every way that I could have hoped that it would.

So, thank you. Thank you for being you. For reading and for following. For testing my recipes and sharing what you think.  Thank you for being there for me.

I can’t wait to celebrate a hundred more of these birthdays with you.

Watermelon Margaritas | Gluten-Free | Queen of Quinoa

What better way to celebrate than with a margarita? And since it’s the end of summer, we should celebrate in style. With my all time favorite summer cocktail. Watermelon Margaritas!

Watermelon Margaritas

recipe type: Cocktails
serves: 2 drinks

  • 2 cups fresh watermelon
  • Juice of 2 limes (about ¼ cup)
  • ½ cup tequila
  • Stevia to taste (I use about ½ – ¾ teaspoon)
  • 6 ice cubes

  1. Add all ingredients to a high speed blender.
  2. Blend on high for 1 minute, until the ice cubes are crushed.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

  1. Happy blogiversary! My blog turned one year old a month ago and it was very exciting, I threw a party featuring all of my recipes (well not all of them but a bunch). You recipes are great and your photos look amazing so keep ‘em coming!
