I’m so excited to be sharing this new feature with you here on QofQ! Many of you have been asking for a way to save your recipes or have a print-friendly version on the site. And you know, I’ve wanted that too. A place where I could save all my favorite recipes from the many food sites I frequent. And now, it’s here!!
I’ve partnered with ZipList to bring you this awesome new feature where you can not only print your recipes, but you can also save them in an online recipe box and even add the ingredients to your shopping list, or add them to your weekly meal planner. How cool is that!?
But to make this feature even sweeter, not only can you do all these things with your favorite recipes from QofQ, but you can also save them from tons of other sites like Martha Stewart, Epicurious, Serious Eats. And also some of my favorite food blogs like, Simply Sugar & Gluten-Free, Cara’s Cravings, Cooking Quinoa, Simply Recipes, Pinch of Yum, Gimme Some Oven, Cookie + Kate, All Day I Dream About Food, How Sweet It Is, Two Peas & Their Pod, Foodiecrush and so many more! (Sorry for the long list there…I’m just really excited!!)
But saving and printing recipes isn’t the only thing that we can do with Ziplist. There’s also a shopping list feature that lets you add ingredients from your saved recipes into your shopping list, which you can access from your mobile phone. Oh and guess what? It’s totally free! How awesome is that?!
You can set up an account if you don’t already have one and start saving your favorite recipes! Although not all of my recipes have been converted to ZipList yet, many of them have and I’ll be slowly converting them over so you’ll have access to this feature with everything on the site.
So here’s how to use these fancy new features:
1) Finding the recipe box
Once you click on “Recipe Box” in the menu bar, you’ll be taken to your personalized recipe box which not only will have the recipes you’ve saved from this site, but will also have all the recipes you’ve saved from other sites as well.
2) Saving recipes
Saving recipes has never been easier!!
Once you’ve found a recipe that you want to save to your “Recipe Box”, simply click the blue button, “Save Recipe”.
From there, this little popup will come up and you can choose to either a) just save the recipe to your Recipe Box or b) add the recipe to both your Shopping List and your Recipe box – with this option, it will also add the ingredients to your Shopping List.
3) Printing Recipes
And printing recipes is just as simple too, with an easy-to-read format!
Printing recipes is super easy with ZipList. All you have to do is click “Print Recipe” and a nice, printer-friendly version of the recipe will pop up. Here’s an example of what that will look like:
4) Adding ingredients to your shopping list
Finally, adding ingredients to your shopping list is super easy. As you can see from above, you just choose “Add to Shopping List and Recipe Box” when that little pop up appears. Once you’ve done that, all the ingredients will now be saved in your Shopping List.
To access your Shopping List, you have a few options. First, you can find it on it’s own tab in the Recipe Box section. But Shopping List is also an option in the main navigation menu as a drop down under “Recipe Box”:
I’m very excited to be joining the ZipList group and am so happy that I can now offer these great features here on QofQ. I hope this is helpful for everyone!!
